The purpose of the Global Leadership Collaboration is to support the work of the Government Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officers Leadership Collaboration (GLC) whose purpose is to enhance nursing and midwifery effectiveness in promoting and improving population health in Member States. The GLC intends to achieve its purpose by building capacity of Government Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officers to influence and actively lead in health policy decisions, developing and implementing programs, strengthening nursing and midwifery leadership, enacting WHO priorities, providing policy advice to Health Ministers for use at the World Health Assembly (WHA) and ensuring that progress is made toward relevant Millennium Development Goals.
